Off late, I have been looking at the Scheduled Sessions and noticed one main thing…
The entire BarCamp is way too IT-centric!
We have got about 11 more free slots as of now.
For me, I shall give a chance to participants from other fields, such as photography, agriculture, business, textiles, sports (especially), and whatever, to take them up and share your points!
Why? Well, my proposed session will be covered by other experts in its own Day.
Also, we want to hear from the other fields! I am sure there’s quite a good number of non-IT participants in the BarCamp too. We need to look away from the computer once in a while, right?
Please, fill out that schedule!
Okay, now that the BarCamp is just so near, it’s time to talk about the perks that will be given to those who are attending…
You get free WiFi broadband connected to the Internet. So it is strongly encouraged that you blog live from the venue, or do live video broadcasts, or snap photos onto Flickr, or any other gallery.
Those who use handheld WiFi computers like the iPod Touch and HTC Touch, rejoice and smile because I do not have one.
This WiFi feature is also for ad-hoc support services. Like say you have an issue with your MySQL database, you can log in to your server and have one of the MySQL geeks fix it for you for free! After all, sharing is caring, right?
If you requested a free BarCamp T-shirt, you would get one beautifully printed one of the size you requested.
Breakfast and lunch on both days are sponsored, so you do not need to pay anything if you registered online. We actually really need more sponsors for this area. Take a look at the sponsor section to find out how to contribute.
Yes, you should be getting coffee and drinks too.
After six p.m. on the 26th, participants/attendees have the whole place to themselves. It is recommended to hit the cafes and restaurants in small groups to network during dinner (not sponsored). Then head back to the venue to spend the night playing the game consoles or watching some movies.
You just might see me playing the harmonica that time, …. or see me asking you to teach me how to play.
Smart casual dress code. Formal dress codes are reserved for the prom nights taking place at individual colleges and universities about a month after BarCamp
.
Hope all that will put in some more excitement for this funcamp… uh… BarCamp.
