Hackathons are great because it’s a place for developers to socialize, learn and write code together. It’s a great avenue working with the developer & student community to bring out even more applications using OpenSocial. Hackers will be given a room to chill & code for this hackathon. Snacks and drinks will be provided at best. Seats are limited and you need to register your participation. Time are subject to change.

“Let’s Open Socially”

Synopsis: Marvin & Nazrul will enlighten the audience about OpenSocial and what does it brings to the table for developers. They will also talk about their experience building OpenSocial applications. They will also be sharing  a OpenSocial application idea, which they will be giving away to whoever interested from the crowd to build it during the course of this hackathon.

Who Should Attend:

  • Rockstar developers
  • Students who wants to be a rockstar hacker
  • Entrepreneurs from the Web 2.0 community

What You Will Learn:

  • Cover sample codes on OpenSocial,
  • How to write a OpenSocial application
  • How to work in an OpenSocial developer sandbox
  • How to monetize your OpenSocial applications

Am I good enough to attend this hackathon? What do I need to do?

  • Love. You gotta have love.
  • Bring your fully-charged laptop that support wireless with your own power charger & adaptor
  • Ability to code in JavaScript (this won’t be a Javascript class) and other beautiful programming languages that you fell in love with (PHP, Perl, Ruby, etc)
  • A team player, a comrade
  • Willing to participate in coding & peer programming
  • Prepare to attend the entire hackathon
  • Even if your are a noob, join in the fun & learn new stuff!

Pre Work
Please complete these tasks before attending the Hackathon.  We won’t be going over these materials on the day, so please familiarise yourselves with them.
